Design and Development

Engine development and rebuilds / Chassis design / Transmission upgrades
As the cars we look after become older, or the customer wants to go faster, we can also provide development on the engines using known modern technology and methods to create more power safely, such as replacing engine internals with stronger components, gas flowing cylinder heads and testing all new engines.  We have built on a dynometer which also acts as a running in procedure.
One customer wanted to utilise a V12 Lagonda engine in a 2 litre Lagonda Chassis and to try to make it the fastest pre war Lagonda ever made. We redesigned W.O.Bentley’s engine design by cross flowing the cylinder heads, resulting in an engine producing 300bhp. We then had to redesign the chassis and suspension to handle this power, all enveloped in a beautiful polished aluminium lightweight body.
Other projects include a V16 7 litre Cadillac engine Alvis with 8 SU carburettors, a GN with a V8 Curtiss aero engine a Frazer Nash with a Type 49 Bugatti engine and for all those off-roading trials fans, a 12/50 Alvis fitted with a later 4.3 engine.
